# Resolve a stacktrace

To use the [Stacktrace Utility tool](stacktrace-utility.md) to resolve a stacktrace for your application:

1. [Set up Stacktrace Utility](stacktrace-utility-set-up.md).
2. Open the [Stacktrace Utility window](stacktrace-utility-window-reference.md).
3. In the [Stacktrace display](stacktrace-utility-window-reference.md#stacktrace-display) section, open the **Original** tab.
4. Paste your stacktrace into the text area in the **Original** tab.
5. From the [Stacktrace Utility controls](stacktrace-utility-window-reference.md#stacktrace-utility-controls) section, select **Resolve**.
6. Open the **Resolved** tab and view the resolved stacktrace.
